WHY RIDE WITH US?

We are Lafayette's and surrounding counties only "Certified Equestrian Riding Program" members and certified by the American Riding Instructors Association, ARIA. Under the guidance of Pamela Bowen Gibson. Pam has over 35 years of equestrian experience.

Owner, Founder and Instructor,

Pam Bowen Gibson has ridden and studied under many professional trainers and educators. She continues still continues her education by riding several clinics year round and enjoys her lessons with her trainer! 

Her love has always been in the Western saddle.  She was taught years ago with Dressage principles and that has also been the foundation for Wild About Horses Horses Equestrian Center.  Her newest love is Liberty Training!  

Pam was involved with 4-H for over 20 years, officially retired due to lesson horses aging!

Coached the Purdue Western Equestrian Team for 6 years.  Our lesson horses were such an assett to the Team! Pam coached IEA with several of her students that formed a WAH team. 

8 years ago Pam started teaching clinics in Horsemanship, Cowboy and Western Dressage throughout the Midwest.  She enjoys traveling and teach at other Equestrian Centers.  She enjoys working with clients and bringing out the Best of Horses and Riders through Partnership and clear .  working aids and continuing education.  Pam is well rounded to be able to teach, educate and inspire.  Body Control is just the beginning to great Partnership in the saddle!  

Instructor, Jen Tilley has found another form of teaching she loves teaching Horsemanship at Wild About Horses. She has always loved horses, and is enjoying this hobby with her daughter Kaylyn. 

Jen holds a Masters Degree in Education, and had been a 2nd grade teacher for over 20 years.  She is elementary teacher at Cole Elementary.

She has been our instructor for Summer Camp since 2020  These continue to be the best years we have had!  She is a great instructor and knows our lessons horses quite well!

They both love riding, and inspiring one another and enjoy their horses as best friends!. They also love trail riding and camping with their husbands and families! Pam and Jen share the love of Christian Music and attending Christian Music Concerts!

LESSON TYPES AND COST

Level 1 and/or First lesson - Always a one on one with an instructor.


1/2 hour Private lesson $65 -

How younger do riders start?  5 years old.

You will need long pants, closed toed shoes, (please no Rubber /Rain boots or Croc's)

We provide horses and ASTM public use helmets.  Arrive early, lessons always are on time.

Level 2.  I am trotting on the rail and I can be independent! 15 minutes of grooming and saddling the horse, 1/2 hour lesson with 2 riders. $65

Level 3,  I am ready for a group!  Groups are 4 or 5 riders. Groups are fun and involve so much more to learn. Be here 15 minutes before your lesson, tack up and be ready to enter the arena at lesson time.  These riders are also responsible for untacking the horse, grooming and put the horses up. $65

1 hour private with lesson horse, includes 15 minutes of grooming and  45 minutes

in the arena $90

 

4 Lesson Discount Package - Lessons to be scheduled in the same month $250

All lessons must be paid for through Venmo, established customers may pay by check.

Payment is due at your 1st lesson week

Venmo Pam-Bowen-5.... No cards of any kind. 

Lesson Cancellations will not be refunded without 24 hour notice.

Sick?  Cancel by noon to be able to reschedule.

RIDING ATTIRE

Closed toe shoe and long pants are required. 

(No Rubber /Rain boots or Croc's)

We provide Horses and ASTM/SEI Equestrian Helmets.

     Please note, helmets are public use.  After the 1st month of lessons, proper boots and         purchasing a NEW helmet is highly recommended.

All helmets, ours or yours, cannot be over 5 years old.  Look for the ASTM/SEI tag in the helmet.   They do have an expiration for your safety.

Please do not bring bicycle helmets for your kiddo.  They are not rated for riding horses!

GETTING STARTED

Sign up today by texting Pam @ 765-714-7403.  New riders are always welcome!

WAH believes that new students should have 1 on 1 instruction when first learning to ride.  

If you are riding with a spouse or another Adult, we may start you together.
